Plastic Shim Manufacturing and Specifications

Q1: What does “solid” mean for solid shims?

A: Shims from Grove Shims™ are made from solid, not hollow, recyclable plastic. The solidity of plastic leveling shims makes them ideal in crucial, load-bearing conditions.

Q2: How are Grove’s shims manufactured?

A: Our shims are completely manufactured in the USA by injecting molten plastic into a mold. All of our shims are made from one of the following: polypropylene (PP), HIP (high-impact polystyrene), or ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene).

Q3: What is the difference between U-shaped Shims and Horseshoe Shims?

A: The terms are sometimes used interchangeably, but there is a slight difference. U-shaped shims have rounded outer corners, while horseshoe shims have square outer corners.
