Fire-Rated Plastic Shims

As many plastic shims are used in the installation of doors, windows, and glass, fire-rated plastic shims are useful for the safety and integrity of exits during emergencies to prevent possible combustion or melting of shims in the case of a fire.

Any shape and size of solid plastic shim from Grove Shims™ can be special ordered in fire-safe, self-extinguishing materials. Our fire-rated shims are available in both polypropylene and ABS materials and meet UL 94 V-0 for special requirements and flammability standards.

Fire-rated plastic shims have the following properties:

• Melting Point: Not less than 170° F, ASTM D1238.
• Noncombustible: Pass.
